The best ATS resume template is the one that fits your career

Fancy resumes look great on a screen but often fall apart once software tries to read them. A good ATS friendly resume template does the opposite. It looks tidy to a recruiter and stays plain enough for a parser to pick out your name, job titles, dates and skills.

What is inside the template

• A header block with name, phone, email, city and LinkedIn in plain text
• A short summary section, three to four lines
• Work Experience with job title, employer, dates and bullet points
• Education, Skills and optional Certifications
• Clear spacing so a hiring manager can scan it in seconds

Why simple beats clever

Columns, skill bars and icons can be read out of order or skipped entirely. Dates may land next to the wrong job. Our template keeps one reading order so the system and the person see the same story.

What makes a template the best ATS resume template for you

There is no single best. Pick based on your situation:

• Career changer: lead with a summary and skills
• Steady career path: lead with experience
• Student or graduate: lead with education and projects

Browse all options on the templates page.

What an ATS optimized resume template looks like

ATS optimized just means the layout is easy for software to read. One column, plain headings, real text.

Modern without breaking the parser

Modern does not have to mean graphics. We use clean type, a single accent colour for headings and generous white space. That keeps the file readable while still looking current.

Fill it in the right way

• Mirror the job title from the posting where it is honest to do so
• Use the exact words from the job description for hard skills you really have
• Keep dates in one format, such as Jan 2023 to Mar 2025
• Save and send in the format the employer asks for
